As I read this, I can't help but wonder where the best place to research some of Ivan's claims could be. Intuitively, and personally, I love what he's saying.. yet I know that he's not backing up anything with figures. I'd love to see good literacy figures in different communities. Is there anything empirical kicking around worth looking at?
