How do free and open maps compete with companies such as Google? Make maps and design geo-mashups with HTML and JavaScript.

Based on P2PU's OpenLayers course ( http://archive.p2pu.org/webcraft/online-maps-openlayers ), this course covers open source mapping with Leaflet.js

You will learn how to add your community to the global OpenStreetMap, learn the basics of interactive online maps, and research and design larger applications.

posted message: This is my first P2PU course, so...how does this work? Will there be an official start date? Or should we just start going through the tasks as we can?

This course is a Leaflet.js version of the OpenLayers course which I taught last year. This course is free-form and you are welcome to complete tasks at your own pace. If you have questions or difficulties please post them as you go along.

    Thanks Nicholas.
My only difficulty at the moment is finding time (hard w/ a 7 week old in the house :) ). But I definitely want to go through this so will pipe up if I run into any issues or have ?s.
