1a-Getting Started

Welcome to this mini-course!

Here, we'll make/hack/play together. We'll engage in these activities as co-learners so that we can see the benefits of them ourselves, before we begin to explore how we might engage in them with students.

You'll have a lot of choices in this mini-course, so feel free to do the activities that are most useful and fun for you. You can even "hack" this mini-course and come up with your own maker activities.

hands-on activity To begin, leave a comment below introducing yourself. Tell us a little about your educational context and what what you want to learn or accomplish in this mini-course. Then tell us what being a "maker" means to you.

After you've done that, go to activity 1b and see some other folks' ideas of what the maker movement is and how it relates to education.
