Co-Founder and Chief Open Educator, leads Codery's learning and open education initiatives. He holds a Masters of Arts in Education (Mathematics) from Stanford University, taught in grades 6-12th in some of the most innovative public schools in the country. Damian was the Founding Director of the Hub, the high school initiative of the Providence After School Alliance, where he led the development of the country's first instance of high school students earning graduation credit and open digital badges for anytime, anywhere learning. Damian lives in Rhode Island with his amazing wife, photographer Stephanie Alvarez Ewens, and their two daughters. When not flying imaginary planes with his girls he can be found surfing the coastline year-round and DJing late night mill parties in Providence, RI.
