This challenge supports the use of materials found in the Beginning Unit of the OpenFiction Project, a free and open introductory fiction writing course
The goals of this challenge are to:
• become familiar with the OpenFiction Project course materials and how they are structured
• learn techniques for generating short story ideas, and
• begin writing the short story that you will finish by the end of your work with the OpenFiction Project materials.
Select story generation exercises from the sets found here and here. Post one of these to the discussion forum of this task. (Note: This task requires the What If...? text.) There is one excercise on the site that doesn't require the text, and look at Optional Task 5 of this challenge for more writiing exercises if you don't have the book.
