Task Discussion

I am not teaching math next year, but I do work with PhET  and am developing interactive simulations and help provide ideas for using the sims. I work in many areas including math and science. I have been reading the Common core math standards and trying to process them. This article is in the Harvard Education Letter http://www.hepg.org/hel/article/543#home. I found it helpful in understanding the math common core because it explains the major changes from the older standards.

I have been using the AAAS online benchmarks and the NDSL science maps for my work with PhET for years. I am hopeful that when the science standards arrive, there will be things like them that are searchable. I  see that  NDSL has provided a searchable site for the math standards yeah!
