I was just in Peggy George and Lorna Constnatini's Pro D Session with the Speaks Volumes Conference.  They put together an amazing collection of "On Demand" Professional Development Resources (Free and Online) for educators.

Lorna and Peggy co-facilitate Classroom 2.0 LIVE on Saturday mornings....

Favourite places  to hang out with other Connected Educaors are...Twitter, Online Courses and Classroom 2.0 Online Conferences.

Another colleague in my PLN, Denise Krebs,  just presented at the Iowa Reading Conference. Her presentation was, "Joining the Conversation" in which she told her story of becoming a "literate" teacher by joining Twitter and jumping into the digital and social media.  Her presentation, I think, would be also excellent as part of the Connected Educators Month. I told her about it and will send her the link.

That's great. We would be happy to post her presentation and engage in some conversations around it here; perhaps in the "personalized learning" strand.

I think it is so important to have these conversations as a part of curriculum conferences like the reading ones, not just in ed tech!

Thanks for sharing, and I'll wait to hear more about getting this posted.

Denise and I are revising the presentation and website to be:

Extend the Conversation: Jump In and Participate

Our audience are the lurkers, those who have tested the digital waters of twitter and blog reading, but who have not yet dipped their toes in to participate.

We're working on it this week; it's a draft right now.

We didn't know if we would just have the site and presentation available, or do we present?

What I like best about your presentation is your emphasis on a continuum of engagement from lurking to collaborating and beyond.  I also like that you are putting bread on the waters, not selling a bill of educational goods.  So...I am trying to work with those local to me--faculty in my department, faculty interested in tech pedagogy, local teachers who want to know more about connecting and, more importantly, my fellow learners in the classroom.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Very true. I'm finding the amount of self-promotion around Connected Educator month a little distressing in some quarters. Connecting is about sharing!

Thank you Tellio and Karen:  our goal is to show through our own stories how we, step by step, dipped into social media and now are swimiing with colleagues around the globe, hoping to synchronize as needed to collaborate and extend our classroom experiences. We hope the audience discovers easy ways to begin to add to the conversation- to give and get help, ideas, strategies, lesson links using many tools! (especially free ones).

Yes, thanks, Tellio and Karen! Sheri and I are certainly having fun connecting and sharing. We are growing as educators and presenters as we get ready for this webinar.

I agree it's all about the sharing! I just read a great blog post by @hughtheteacher that reminded me of that:

I sure hope your presentation will be saved so that I can view it later.  I have had a baseball game scheduled for that day all summer.  Can't miss my league leading Reds.  Will it be recorded?
