I think the way you're currently handling things is good enough, this is definitely one of the best explained guides that I've seen on here. I'd also just like to say thanks for posting all these updates today.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps hosting a copy of the site at each step (but all linked to the same database if possible) so that people can log into it there, and see if theirs matches the way it's meant to be at the step they're currently at. I think it'd aid the troubleshooting process for when things go wrong, and also show the progress of the project. Just a consideration. :)

Thank you very much Placeholder! My goal is to be in depth, and eliminate as many questions as I can.

And done! That is actually a very good idea! I will start doing that from here on out.
As of right now, you can check the site's progress at

And each new step (that will make a difference), I will host another copy.

I think I've been a pretty vocal member on this class from the beginning and I can say I have thoroughly enjoyed these lessons. The only constructive criticism I can think of has been the infrequecny of updates. I noticed we had alot of comments and participation when this class had first started, but that has all but died down recently. I think the culprit can be pointed at the updates. I realize you are a busy man, and most likely a full-time web developer, but next time you give a class, I'd recommend telling people how often you're going to update the class. It could be once a week or perhaps even every couple of days (the shorter the better to hold people's attention span), but your students should know something. You don't show up to University and not have a schedule for your classes, and I don't think this should be any different. It looks like you got some more free time on your hands and have picked up the pace, so I just want to tell you job well done.

TL, DR: more frequent updates and a set schedule
