Publish and promote!

Turn on your course, get the word out, get started.

Your tasks:

Post the URL of your live P2PU course.
Promote your course.
Apply for a Challenge Creator Badge.

Step 1: Flip the switch!

On the front page of your course, click "Edit Study Group" or "Edit Course."

Visit the "Status and Dates" menu in the admin interface, and uncheck the "Under development" check box.

To being accepting participants, go to Sign Up option in the Admin menu, and choose whether you'd like the sign up to be completely open, moderated, or closed.

Step 2: Own the blogosphere.

We're here to help you get the word out about your ridiculously sweet course. A few ways to get started with promotion:

Contact the community list. We have a robust community Google group at p2pu-community@googlegroups.com. Drop us a line and we'll spread the word!
Featured course. Contact our Community Manager, Bekka Kahn bekka@p2pu.org for the opportunity to be the featured course on the site.
Write a blog post. You can post to your own blog, or let Bekka know and we'll post it on ours!
Google AdWords. If you're interested in running an ad campaign, think about a few potential ads and a bunch of keywords. You can contact vanessa@p2pu.org and we'll go from there.

Your task list needs sub-titles (like the first two do). The task TITLES convey a lot of maker-tinkerer philosophy, but very little about what the task has to do for 3D printing. Adding subtitles like "choose a subject to modelf or 3D printing" or gather supplies for 3D printing, etc would be great.

Hi Alison, Thanks! I'm adding tasks as I get done with them, and I've got it in challenge form now. I've got a friend to host videos for me with lots of bandwidth. One thing I could use help with, CLFS is free under the Open Document license, but I still need permission from them to use the words "Linux From Scratch". I e-mailed admin@cross-lfs.org but I never got a reply back. I got the impression from their website that they are most active on their IRC channel. Their website is at http://trac.cross-lfs.org/ and it has mailing list and IRC links on the right. I don't know how a lot of this stuff works but if you or someone could write them and get permission it would be greatly appreciated. If they need anything else from me directly just let me know.

It is up to you, the organizer, to make sure your materials are in line with content licensing. We can't get in touch with anyone on your behalf but we can give you advice and point you to resources.
