Bio:
Hello. My name is Daniel C. Phelan. Feel free to call me Danny. I happen to go to a public high school at which whatever is actually learned tends to be unimportant, as the useful stuff is taught in a manner which inclines to slip out of the brain and through the ear. This is one medium of my attempt to unschool myself - in other words, to learn real skills I shall actually use and employ them to my own purposes. At some point I intend to travel the world, but at the moment I'm stuck in the United States. I love to read and write, and I sometimes draw and play piano - although those two are in desperate need of improvement. Acting is also fun, but I haven't always the time for being on stage, so that's become an occasional treat for me.My favorite book is currently Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, and I don't know what my favorite movie or piece of music are. So many from which to choose! My favorite show is the newer Doctor Who series. I haven't seen the older ones, but would like to do so. You can tell I like fantasy, science fiction, and horror. It might do well to add that I love cats.

Standard Set Answer:
I've been writing for many years, improving my craft, and I would like to someday be a full-time writer. I keep a blog called The Winter Journal but I know not the true rules of web writing; this is purely amateur and contains my views of various things. In taking part in this course I hope to acquire new knowledge and apply it as skills on my blog and perhaps others. If there is any way in which I may assist others, I would be glad to; I enjoy being helpful when able.
Public Set Answer:
If I had to select three things I love about blogging, they would be the fact that I have my own sect of the internet on which to post what I want and when; that several friends of mine use them and it's a good way to see their thoughts without having the restrictions of sites like Facebook; and that it's good writing practice when not putting down a story or essay. I am not a fan of the ease with which some blogs lose content forever, such as Livejournal, where I wrote an entire post and it was deleted before being posted due to two very similar buttons being close together.

I blog frequently but feel like there is more that I can do to make it more interesting to the readers. O also run a website for the radio show that I co host, but it seems lackluster in my eyes. I would like to find way to improve it. By participating, I hope to uncover new techniques, and tips that will help me become a more expressive writer. I am always interested in assisting in any way I can.

The thing that I enjoy the mosta bout blogging is that I get to express what's on my mind without interruption. Blogging also allows me to record my thoughts as they come, so that when I go back to reread previous entries, I can see my growth.
The thing that I do not like about blogging is....well, I can't think of anything right now.

It is somewhat dificult to project reader interests and perception when working with very specific topics, so I am looking forward to participating in this group and learning in the process. I just turned 48 and one thing is certain! I have a lot more to learn!
Although I have made a career switch this year back to online web related development, the last 8 years as a business development/procurement consultant took me around the world quite often. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences while traveling for business and pleasure, but one particular topic I have development a particular interst for is Mobile Phone Service and efficiant ways to stay connected while traveling. How important could the subject be? I hope to find out in the near future.

There are a lot of blogs, but majority are ghost towns. I'm part of that majority.
I hope to get frequent visitors(I quit my reblog mania, because people just go there once then leave) and start talking to my community.

Public Set Answer:
Having people talk about what you said.
You have to find a way to get people to read it(having friends stuck playing LoL all day makes it really hard.)

I like the feedback and community that can be built. I always love sharing something great that I discovered or working through something that was previously not highlighted.
I don't like that feeling that someone might take offense or not like what I say. Or that I might get something incorrect.
