Outline your first lesson [July 11, 2012, 11:28 a.m.]
Choose one of the learning goals you just read as the subject of your first lesson. That goal is listed under one of the four lesson types, which is the lesson type we think will most naturally teach that goal's material. Create a new lesson of that type using the shortcuts at the bottom of the curricilum stage page where your goal is listed. Now choose some elements of the lerning goal you want to teach and start building material for them.
This material will vary depending on what kind of lesson you are making, but sentences are a great place to start for all of them. Think of sentences that use the material you are teaching in a way that highlights the unique elements of the topic. For example, when teaching relative position, you might start with basic vocabulary terms liike "above", "below", "next to", etc and then build them into sentences like "The pen is on the table".
Focusing on the particular aspect you are trying to teach should help guide you in picking what other elements to use when illustrating and explaining that material.
