Anyone can follow a guide on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  I am interested in this topic because most of my work is based around PHP development of a large content management system. I am hoping to gain new insights into web development and bring these to my team. I would really like to learn more about the aesthetic qualities of a good website as I have a pretty good hold on the back end aspect.   I'm a UI Designer and Developer for Dumbwaiter Design in Rochester, NY. Previously, I've worked at Schoolwires, Inc. as an Interactive Designer creating K-12 web solutions for cities all over the country. I'm also a Rochester Institute of Technology alumni and am active in spurring on innovation within the tech industry here in Rochester, NY.

  I'm interested in learning more about what the process is involved in creating a startup that is driven largely by a community of people. Most of my experience so far has been on the front end of things so I have a strong desire to broaden my skill set and be able to relate much better to people that are more proficient at this sort of thing than myself. 

  Ideally, I would hope to take away some great concepts and perhaps refine my PHP skills as well. I may be interested in helping with the guide organization however my schedule may only allow for time to be spent on learning the key concepts herein.   I learned a lot of my web programming on my own from various books and online tutorials.  I have had a little programming background in high school with BASIC so web programming was pretty simple to pick up as I understood a lot of simple programming concepts.  I have worked on number of websites using dynimic content and different PHP templating systems (also tinkered with building a few templating systems of my own).  

  I am interested in this program because i would like to see how a large project is put together as far as how coding structure/standards are setup.  I usually work on projects on my own so I feel this will help me see how groups work on websites together.  Plus I hope to learn a few tricks with dynamic content.  

  I would be interested in helping where I can although I am not sure how much I can contribute. Looking forward to joining the project!

  I've recently decided to take my web development career more seriously and seeing how a professional website is built ground-up would help me in my own creations; I have created a website with some "social" features, but the work was very amateur-like.
