What made you interested in this topic?
Well, last months I've been learning some languages (Java, C++, C), but to be honest web design and web programming interest me so much, so I started reading about html, php, css, etc; and of course i saw many good reviews about HTML5 (a powerful new paradigm with tons of advantages), also saw the Rome project, and many Google works, so I'm really interested in learn it cause i think it would help me to fussion two things i really like, programming and graphic design.

I am a graduating, non-traditonal college student. My first bachelor's is in History and Spanish. I will pursue a second bachelor's in computer science, carrying a very heavy load it should take 1.5 years.
Besides overstudying I like the outdoors, fiction of all genres and qualities, martial arts, coffeeshops, conversation, excersise, if I can time to relax. Good Luck in your study.
Note: I taught myself C to about an intermediate level, but system programming seemed difficult...probably for good reason. It has other uses but OO languages do it better.

Standard Set Answer:
What has made me interested in this topic?
It's the platform independent notion of HTML 5 that has captured my interest the most. The introduction of the canvas feature which aims to be a milestone for rich multimedia content without relying on a third-party layer such as Flash also happens to be a motivating factor for taking up the HTML 5 introductory course.
What do i hope to achieve by participating ?
I hope to gain and spread enough skills to develop immersive games and interactive web pages in HTML 5
Interested n helping others ?
I sure am. I strongly believe learning is a group activity. E-learning coupled with interactive modes of learning are an appropriate ingredient for accelerated and effective learning.

Bachelor degree in Communication and Multimedia
CISCO CCNA1
Location: Portugal
Standard Set Answer:
Hello. I'm attending a Masters in Multimedia, but I always thought that my web programming skills are a little bit weak.
I studied HTML4, CSS 2.1, PHP 5, MySQL and a little tiny bit of Javascript.
Nowadays I hear a lot about HTML5 and the new <video> and <audio> tags. That's why I want to participate in this group, to update my knowledge and to see for myself if all this fuss about HTML5 is exagerated or not.
Hope to learn what is HTML5, the new tags, real-world examples and the new capabilities that it brings to the world wide web.
