Latent Semantic Analysis seeks to use structural knowledge of pragmatics. For example in order to get to the best diagnosis of a patient, it is important to take into account their whole medical histories and not just a few quotes. This method analyses the entire document before coming to a conclusion so medaphores and words with multiple meanings are not confused.
