I think great leaders brand themselves well. They are who they are, they don't apologize about it, and they learn and grow in ways that are customized/effective for "them."

Both of these articles hit home. The Fast company one I was more in alignment with. Although from 1997, it offered guiding principals to branding yourself that are still relevant.

thanks for the reminder and thanks for sharing!

Branding is about capturing and presenting distinctive interests or even better passion. My personal brand revolves around the merger of health and wellness with the momentum of technology.

I'm in the process of building a website that is reflective of this. With a porfolio of applications and sites, blogs related to the industry, recommended events including ones that I'm attending. The theme is going to be mostly clean, minimal with little pops of jewel-toned colors.

    • Response to some of the questions in the personal branding articles:
    • How do I make people feel?
    • My 25 year old son recently told me that he though people felt good about themselves after talking to me, that was a nice compliment.
    • How do people benefit by working with me?
    • Students of mine find internships, and academic opportunities working with me, and alumni of mine contact me when looking for internships or contacts when in college.
    • What words do others use to describe me?
    • leader, patient, hard working.
