Team Management - Resources and Conversation

Team management will be the skill you will use the most when mentoring your team of five Technovation girls. You will often function as their project manager and will model skills many have not seen before. We have broken down team management into tips for delegating, facilitating meetings, and creating a great pitch. You may want to share some of these resources with your team of girls as they learn more about working on a team and create their pitches.

My favorite group experience was at a hackathon. It was my first one and was a little nervous about it. Luckily, I ran into two acquaintances from other events that happened to be on the same team. We had a lot of fun rushing to put our product together over the weekend.

Our leader was fantastic, he was great with merging everyone's ideas together into something cohesive. I've never met anyone with such a finesse for making everyone feel important in the final concept and presentation. We were all learning new technology and brushing up on the ol' javascript, but had a blast pushing each other to higher heights and actually won two seperate awards by Sunday.

The teams positivity and drive to create something great was how we won and how we formed lasting friendships that weekend.
