Create 100% free and re-mixable language lessons to teach the world your language.

We are learning how to build media-rich interactive language lessons online. In the process we will help create a short curriculum of these lessons for teaching basic English. All materials and software used are 100% free. Be part of the campaign to jumpstart collaborative language education online (thelastlanguagetextbook.org) and learn how to share your language with the world.

Hi Alex and welcome to the course. The goal of this P2PU course was to help people learn how to build online language lessons by building lessons for the Last Language Textbook course using the free lesson building tools at wikiotics.org.

Mostly people have chosen to subscribe to the course rather than actively participate so there isn't much activity in the course itself. There has been some great activity on the wikiotics site though and I've been putting together lesson building instructions as blog posts over at blog.wikiotics.net, which are also linked to from the main course activity page.

If you are interested in the project, we're still here and happy to help so feel free to ask any questions. I would take a look at the first couple of activities on the list "Reading the LLT course outline" and then read the "building a Picture Choice lesson" and "Building a podcast lesson" blog posts. That should give you a good idea of what kind of things we're building and maybe some ideas for things you would build.

If you don't want to start your own lesson from scratch, some of the lessons from our recent workshop would be a great starting point. A couple of them are fairly short and could use expansion, or you could make a copy of a longer one and try your hand at making some changes.

Hope that helps and just let me know if you need any tips or explanations.

    -Ian
