The Cinematography Collective is a group of film/movie/television/photography enthusiasts undertaking regular short tasks on the art, craft and technique of the moving image.
The aim of the group is to create a community of cine enthusiasts who regularly work on short tasks (either alone or together) with a regular theme to respond to - sharing advice, knowledge, feedback and resources along the way. You can work on Film, Video DSLR, Broadcast and Consumer Cameras.
This course is being piloted between October and December 2012. The aim of the class is for participants to produce a showreel of their work at the end.

It might be a cool project for your uni group to develop a set of digital cinematography courses on P2PU. We don't have anything like it yet.
We have a lot of users on P2PU who dont attend universities and would love to learn an intro to (digital) filmmaking. Perhaps you guys could even get credit from your uni for developing a curriculum here! (Just an idea..)
