posted message: Hello everyone! Let's start this class with a first challenge. I am also putting together a wiki where we can add our definitions, and document this class. Until then, I am looking forward in reading your answers! :)

    Hi:

One of the networks that i moderate is a simple email-based discussion forum focused on ICT and its effect on development. My 2nd network is a network focused on ICT & Health.

We are growing it organically yet continously trying to enhance the interactions and user experiences for the network members.

Hope to learn effective insights and apply them towards improving  the structure of my networks.

    thanks,

    miraj

Hi, I have been waiting for this course to start since long time ago, and just started receiving emails on activities. I am a web developer, and recently assigned to plan for a sport social website. That would be my target.

sport website is my target too, but more local, an athletics club page that intent to join all the members to interact in the website

:) Your Goal is what exactly, can you define it? What it is you'd like them to achieve on your sport site? What issue or need is your site solving? If you could pull out 3 basic actions on your site what would they be?

The target of my community are women related to technology and entrepreneurial living in Argentina . It's a chapter which is part of a huge community called Girls in Tech.

Girls in Tech is a social network enterprise focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of like-minded, professional, intelligent and influential women in technology.

    Good looking site!

  • Keledoll Liang   July 26, 2011, 12:04 a.m.

The target group of my community is college students who are deficient to education resources but  have self-learning or self-improvement drives in China. 1minU is the platform I am working on to provide interesting courses for them to learn~

  • akumria   July 25, 2011, 10:23 p.m.

Umm, perhaps others have missed it (p2pu.org emails have only *just* started to appear in my inbox today!) but what is the URL for the wiki?

So far, I've got to say that I can see a number of updates but it appears that the platform here (p2pu.org) has not been sending out information.

Hi. My community is a group of people from around the world trying to collaborate in organizing a conference.
  • joe palmer   July 25, 2011, 5:08 p.m.

My community are a group of people that want to learn computer skills. These people are very new, they know very little, and most of them are middle aged feeling left out. They are breaking past the digital divide.

Yes thank you Joe I saw your answer, and you were the only one who responded. I am trying to get a sense of who and how people are participating to this course. With this first task I was hoping to get a clear sense of participation...

I have been trying to prepare a wiki, but wikimedia is very hard to customise and adjust, so I'm thinking we could use the tasks to collaborate until I find a better way...

We used a Google Group that the facilitator created in HTML/CSS from the Begining, the nice thing is everthing is kept "navigatable" but doing it here is about the same thing, an email comes out everytime someone does something (ask or answer a question). Here was his group page if your curious.

It is hard when they don't  participate, but it is such a good idea I hope you keep your strength :)

1.The main goal for users of a learning how to use a computer community site would be

To feel comfortable and not intimidated

To think that they can succeed

    The brand goals should include

    Logo

    Name

Slogan that they remember and are attracted to

The business goals of this community site are to have enough members that ad revenue will cover at least cover hosting expenses.
    Three actions:
interactive hotline forum, video / resourceof the day sharing and a place for taking simple tests that directs the user to an appropriate solution if they are wrong.

Should we be putting this stuff up like this or just on our notebooks? Thanks.

  • ali_pdx   July 25, 2011, 1:39 p.m.

Will the wiki be the place for us to post all of our responses/contributions?

  • celine semaan vernon   July 25, 2011, 1:41 p.m.

Yes we will collaborate on the wiki, but we can also use this site and the tasks to answer / collaborate on this class.
