6. Controlling Pins of a Remote XBee from a Computer
With a computer running Python and the API mode we are totally in control. We can configure the remote XBee wirelessly using remote AT commands. For example we can turn on and off a pin of the remote XBee to blink a LED. We can also wait for message confirmations to check how long the ZigBee communication takes. There is nothing impossible when we combine Arduino, Python and wireless communication.
Activity
Describe a project that combines both the XBee and a computer. Explain which sensors and/or actuators you would like to use. One of the XBees is going to be connected to the computer. Decide whether you want the second XBee to be used in combination with Arduino or as a stand-alone device.
