This course offers foundational instruction in HTML. Topics include tag structure, file encoding, web browsers, DOCTYPEs, common HTML elements, hyperlinks, images, video, tables, forms, and sections.
Additionally, we will touch base on CSS in order for students to transition to other Webcraft courses.
WEBCRAFT
Anyone can follow a course on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. I hope to understand what is new in HTML 5 over the HTML I previously learned. I also hope to come to grips with some of the basics of CSS.

I'm interested in designing for the web generally, I've also had good results working with Actionscript 2 (interactive graphics, banner ads) —I'm not interested in working with Flash anymore and what I know about HTML 5 is pretty exciting. It seems like a potential convergence of several interests.
What do you hope to achieve by participating?
A working knowledge of HTML 5 and a sense of it's potential. I'd hope to use the tasks to build things i might use professionally now or later.
