Anyone can follow a course on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

This set of signup questions is common to all study groups, courses, ... in P2PU. The answers to these questions will be public once you get accepted.

  Bio:

  Student, entrepreneur, young professional. I love learning new things, creating new things, baking, cooking, and being outdoors. I just started getting into web design.

  When I started my job about a year ago, I was put in charge of website maintenance and updates. I basically had to learn and teach myself html from scratch. While I know enough to get by, I am eager to learn more. I hope that I can work my way up to creating a website that is fully functional and professional for my father's start-up business. I am always interested in helping and giving back to others in p2pu!

  What made you interested in this topic?

  As I understand it, HTML5 is the future of the web; the protocol for everything to be built in the future. I've come across great websites and mobile applications that have proven the efficacy and benefits of HTML5. I can see some great benefits for everyone using HTML5. All of these considerations and experiences have piqued my interest.

   

  What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  I'm well versed in project mgmt, client mgmt, finances, resourcing, etc. but if there's one thing I'd like do is play more of a vital role in is activating an idea, bringing it to life, create the foundation that people will experience in the flesh. I want to better understand the infrastructure so I can better identify the implications of building future applications. My goal in participating in P2PU is to learn it so I can then help build awareness for it and continue to develop more sophisticated, behavior changing applications.

   

  Are you interested in helping with the study group organization?

  I would be interested in helping depending on the time requirements. I'll lend support when and where I can.

I earned my Diploma in Graphic Design at Vancouver Film School, a rigorous design curriculum based in art history, drawing and design research.   What made you interested in this topic?

  Currently I am a graphic designer and personal trainer.  I feel that being a graphic designer is a good start to becming an amazing web developer because both skills combined will create something visually stunning.  I want to make the websites I currently operate with wordpress even better by being able to custom build them.

  I have been facinated with the web since about 1997. I am able to program basic html by researching bits of code to add to my pages and by pilfering bits of code out of web pages I like. I am not a web designer by trade but the field fascinates me.

   I'm totally fascinated by the web and I want to learn how to create and promote highly functional and esthetically pleasing sites.

  Expand my knowledge of how the web designing has grown beyond the little HTML knowledge I possess now.

  Not likely. I don't posses the skills required to convey anything current with HTML design.

  HTML always fascinated me. Years ago I made websites when its was all so very basic and restrictive. I always wished for more and knew the potential was there. Now the opportunity for beautiful and creative clean design is endless, and I need to be a part of it. I've studied on my own for a while now that I have time, and I get excited when I find new and interesting ways to do things. I know that this community will be a huge benefit, and will put me on the right track and I hope to make some great colleagues and maybe I can help in some way too, when I'm ready.

  HTML5 is going to be the weblanuage and is going to stay. The sooner I learn it the better.

  By learning html5, I can create webpages with multimedia without depending on  a propritory language and can create platform independent applications.
