I love the concept of open source, free information and open course material. I know some "gut feeling" and "sounds reasonable" -arguments, but to convince academic staff, I need numerical facts and success stories.
I want to learn both factual arguments and good rhetorics to promote opencourseware concept in both our university and in Finland. This is my personal learning plan to get better in selling the concept of opencourseware. It is part of my participating on the P2PU course DIY U: Getting Started With Self Learning.
In the world of computers, open source is well known. But in the world of publishing and education, it is not (at least in Finland). It may be hard to find a mentor or expert. Maybe an executive from a university, which has estabilished a good OpenCourseWare site and practices.
