Culture and Politics: Peruvian politics, water, and justice

These few short videos will give a bit of starting glimpse into contemporary politics in Peru. Laguna Negra, the longest of the films, portrays changing conditions in a farming community. Here, a U.S. news outlet Democracy Now reports on a police massacre of indigenous protesters. This video covers a march demanding water. Here, we see an indigenous leader exposing oil contamination. Finally, an activist meets with a local community without water.
