I became interested in Args as a way to introduce movement and kinetic learning into my f2f accounting and business classes.
The goal was to have the students engage in the course materials by applying them to real life scenarios.
I'm very interested in helping the group explore ARGs and discuss on their use and implementation.
Public Set Answer:
Actually, I'd have to answer No to all three. :D
I have not done any of these; however I have been part of groups that designed ARGS. I've assisted with designing and writing narratives, developoing resources and content , and designing player mechanics and overall structure of an ARG.

What made you interested in this topic?
Seeing as I'm a fan of both mobile learning, games in education, and virtual worlds, it goes without saying that alternate reality games would be something else that I would want to possibly incorporate into my classes. Also, anything with Kae and Chris is certain to be something amazing, so I will be there to watch and learn!
What do you hope to achieve by participating?
Ultimately, I want to learn how I can make a mobile ARG with my Spanish classes. How cool would it be, too, to incorporate some questing into it as well? My students would LOVE it. [Sounds like something 3D GameLab could
Are you interested in helping with the learning arg organization?
Most definitely! Let me know how I can help (even if it means myself and my students/friends are guinea pigs), and I will gladly step forward! Plus, with the summer approaching, I'll have some time on my hands.
Public Set Answer:
Have you ever played an ARG?
In a fashion. For awhile, I played on the Dimensions app (that I reviewed on my blog), but I was eventually unsatisfied with the experience (especially from an educational standpoint; there was no educational value whatsoever). It wasn't "alternate reality" enough for me.
Have you ever written interactive fiction?
Yes! Now, don't laugh, but once upon a time, I was involved in a writing-based Harry Potter RPG online (I'm really showing my geek feathers now). After a year, I became on of the moderators, which involved written RP with several other characters that shifted and changed. We had to write fake newspaper articles, letters, even fake courses from the professors! (Yes, oh, yes, I was indeed Gilderoy Lockhart as a NPC-ish professor. It was GREAT fun!)
Now, as an educator, especially in a foreign language, the students depend on my story prompts to start their retelling of certain events. It's quite fun at times since we can be entirely outlandish (i.e. Last summer, you went on the trip of a lifetime with your family. You flew far, far away and landed in an amazing place! Unfortunately, due to the shifting of the poles, gravity went crazy for about ten minutes and you had so many accidents that you ended up in a body cast in the hospital. Relate this story to your friend and don't forget to include how you got hurt and perhaps any interesting events that went on in the hospital!)
And finally, even before I had heard of questing/gaming in education, I would make fun story-based scavenger hunts for my Spanish students. :D
Have you ever done collaborative storytelling?
Not officially, but as a foreign language teacher, you end up doing so on your own accord. (And, of course, with that written Harry Potter RPG of my undergrad years, there were numerous amounts of collaborative storytelling).

I have been exposed to ARGs that are coupled to mainstream media like tv series, that have more indepth side stories. Besides that I have collaborated on creating stories, not sure if that is called 'collaborative storytelling'.

I would love to get a deeper understanding of story contructs as they relate to ARGs and gaming in general, and would love to help where I can within the course.

I have played several of Jane McGonigal's onlline ARGs, such as EVOKE and World Without Oil. I have also followed along with a lot of ARG storylines that were part of film or tv shows like Lost, Heroes, AI, etc.
I have participated in collaborative storytelling and writing through several machinima projects and would love to do more of this. I also have a background as an illustrator, so the idea of having interrelated mediums further a story is something I am deeply interested in.

I am interested in pusuing a concentrated and focused effort (this year) on honing my skill-set(s) in becoming more of a proficient eductaor in terms of being capable of providing immersive teaching pedagogical teaching style(s) which include VR / Immesrive environments.
I am most particularly interested in developing my contnet creation and curriculum creation and development within Second Life as a platform to master manifest these skills.
I feel I am capable enough to qualify for helping with organizational activities within this MOOC and would like to shoulder some of the wheel.
Public Set Answer:
I'll say I have not actually been a part of an ARG. I have practiced teaching concept of my content on ISTE Island and other locations within SL. I have used varied locations and used some limited scripting tools to create and to participate in conveying concepts and thoughts.
I am capable of story telling... I tell a story everyday about esoteric concepts and topics / subject matter involving the Earth and where she lies in and among her place in space!

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Standard Set Answer:
What made you interested in this topic?
-Well, I have always been greatly excited in virtual realities for as long as I remember. I believe that augmented/alternate realities are just one step closer to achieveing the kind of immersive storyline and narrative that can help bridge our disjointed technology native students back into the schools and education. To some education has been more a formality that is long overdue for a revamp/restructure. Technology native generations have fallen, sadly, into information at their fingetips at the speed of light, this causes them to believe they are masters in the subject and their ability to really study, focus and broaden their horizens becomes easily lost (not to mention a downgrade ina student's critical thinking skill which they so desperately need. As a teacher, we have longly remained on the side of just "teaching" when we need to be guiding our students to answers and facilitate an expansive outreach to the knowledge that isn't required by the curriculum or on any test. By expanding/exposing our students to as much as we can, as often as we can we will be doing a better service to our students and build them to be life-long learners.
What do you hope to achieve by participating?
-Anyone that knows me, knows I love to collect and develope resources of knowledge that will become useful to those participating directly or to those who wonder indirectly. By having a wealth of knowledge and a broad range of skills, tactics and tools anyone can learn and teach others. Helping is just something I do. And goodness knows you can never have enough skills and hoping to add a more superb understanding of AR will only bring me up, not put me down.
Are you interested in helping with the May 7-28 organization?
-You know it. BD
Public Set Answer:
Have you ever played an ARG?
-Yes, just nothing quite like this.
Have you ever written interactive ficition?
-I write ficition on the side and I am very interactive in it, yes though I do know you mean can it be interactive to anyone... So technically no, but I do have a moderate understanding of how to connect the audience to the subject at hand.
Have you ever done collaborative storytelling?
-Yes, currently I am helping a local author expand her fan base and gain enough support, East to West coast through blogging, twittering and developing mini 3D animation shorts for youtube. And I have been doing RPs for years in which you need to be able to collaborate when every other entry could has the possibilty of taking the story in another direction.
