Anyone can follow a study group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  As the ALP Writing Teacher at my school, I am interested in finding new and innovative ways to teach this art to my students.  I have been a teaching for five years.  This will be my first year teaching only Writing!  I will have three different grades and around seventy students.  I am hoping that I will find some great ideas to keep all of my students engaged and inspired to write.  I cannot commit to helping with the study group organization right now.  I have so much on my plate and I don't want to let anyone down.

  I'm a high school biology teacher looking to find new techniques to improve student engagement and improve my ability to collect meaningful data about student achievement.

  - I am looking to find an easier way to collect and demonstrate evidence of my personal growth as a teacher and demonstrate that to administrators and others

  I believe teachers need better tools to reflect on their learning and to share their expertise.  Digital tools make it easy for us to connect with a wide audience, but the wealth of information available can be overwhelming.

  I want to practice with tools to effectively share my learning.  In doing so, I hope to develop ideas about how to support students and teachers.

  I am a 10th grade Biology teacher, also credentialed in Mathematics and English. I enjoy being around educators who consider themselves life-long learners and young adults to whom I can impart new and exciting ideas. Outside of the classroom, I train young people from my school community to run the LA Marathon.

  I'm interested in this topic because I recognize that the learner in my classroom has dramatically transformed in the past decade. Even the classroom itself has changed, as it is no longer bound by brick and mortar well into the 21st century. The student has been reshaped and the physical boundaries of the school have been reconstructed; however, I find that I am still teaching with the tools similar to what I used in my first classroom. By participating in the e-portfolio, I hope to explore new content and skills that I can implement in my current classroom to expand and encourage digital, media, and global literacies in my students.

  What made you interested in this topic?

  I am currently in an online distance education Master's degree program where our final project will be an ePortfolio.  I want to learn as much as I can before next year when I begin work on that project.

  What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  I hope to gain a better understanding of what makes a good ePortfolio, where to begin and what to include.  I am also interested in the recommended software for creating an ePortfolio.

  As an educationist who is currently focusing on DIY learning, I believe we need a radically different approach to crediting learning that occurs in our daily lives.   I'm a Liz fan....but also, eportfolios are important for every field these days. People are much more than black text on white paper, and they will never properly compete for jobs with just that.
