Anyone can follow a course on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  HTML 5 is the wave of the future.  I hope to be able to take advantage of any resources that are available to me to keep me current with new technology, and be able to sharpen and ad to my skillset. I would be willing to help the community in any way that I can.

  I have been doing some website design work for a few years. I am tring to learn more about web standards and utilize this in my work. I also want to learn more about HTML5.

  • What made you interested in this topic?

  I've been doing websites for my own purposes (or my friends') since 2004, always using a CMS, this means that I have not yet learnt how to create websites from scratch and all my knowledge is quite unbalanced since I've always learnt to cover my own needs. Now, HTML5 seems to offer lots of new possibilities and since it's new to many people that would be an opportunity for me to learn almost from scratch and fill my holes at the same time I learn a new and promising subject.

  • What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  Learn the basics (hopefully more) of HTML5, what it is, what to expect from it, how it works...

  • Are you interested in helping with the study group organization?

  Since I'm new to P2PU I'm not sure what does that mean.

  Studying Multimedia Games Development and working for a company in a media managment role taking care of web development, social media, online marketing campaigns and the like.

  I have been interested in learning the ins and outs of HTML5 since it was announced but have felt the need to stick with the tried and trusted standards compliant versions of HTML as all the web development I have concentrated on since it's release have been for companies who are more interested in keeping things completely cross browser safe rather than pushing the boundaries of web technologies.

  At this stage I feel as if it's time to start getting invovled with the new technologies apperaing for the web and also participating on the course would be really helpful for me to keep up to date with the current state of web development and hopefully help me get rid of any bad habits I have picked up since starting to learn HTML. Another reason for starting to learn is to have a Flash alternative for deploying web videos and media, creating universally web safe games, more interesting interactive web elements/pages and producing sites and applications for mobile devices.

  I would also be interested in helping organise the study group if needed.

  My company started asking me to help the marketing department with our email newsletters. I saw that the best method for this was by using HTML newsletters. 

  I want to be able to design effective newsletters for my company as well as provide them with the newest and best web tech that I can.
