Standard Set Answer:I have a dream that one day all folks dabbling in content will be judged not by their control of a market share, but by the quality and availability of their work. :) It is my hope that HTML5 will help disrupt the control of content delivery.
I want to learn as much as possible about HTML5 features and share these with family, friends and colleagues. We hope to focus more one content and less browser and player wars, less on web app compatibility...etc. I want to be able to dabble with fewer content delivery barriers.
I am interested in helping with organization.

I hope after this class and perhaps a few others to be able to produce a better quality web page then I am currrently able to do. I have a minimum of time so I would prefer to just take the class and not get involved with the organization of the study group.

Standard Set Answer:I've been trying to study this on my own, but I am so much more motivated when its given as homework instead.
I'm ready to start using HTML5 NOW... or at least start using whats safe to use (which I'm sure I'll learn what is, and what isn't). This is just the next step in furthering my skills.
Helping with study group organization? I'm a pretty active participant, but I'm probably not that good at organizing a bunch of people. So it depends what I have to do :)

Standard Set Answer:I'm very interested in this topic because of two things:
1. I love the web and everything it can do. I spend a lot of time exploring it and redacting articles for my website about technology, Internet, social media and applications.
2. My graduation project is a web service and I want to develop it using HTML5 due to the potential it has.
I hope to get the basics of HTML5 so I can start building up my knowledge about it later. I'm very enthusiastc about learning new things, and if it's something I like I will enjoy learning it. So I also hope to have fun and engage with other people.
Sure, if there's somtehing I can do, I will do it. Actually I was talking with my career principal at my university to analyze the possibility of oppening an HTML5 introductory course.

I'm a 24-year-old programmer from Maine. My main languages are Java and Python, but I'm looking to learn web development as well.

Standard Set Answer:I am interested in this topic for a few reasons. The first is that I have a passing knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript, but I'd love to stretch my skills further. I took a JavaScript 101 course on P2PU earlier and really enjoyed the experience; even though I'm not using JavaScript on a daily basis, the lessons learned there carry over to other languages I use more frequently.
Most of the work I've done has been desktop or mobile applications, or server side infrastructure; I haven't really worked on web client side code and I'd like to change that.
The second reason is that I love games, and have been playing them for most of my life. I have made a few games in the course of my college courses, but nothing that I can easily distribute. I love the idea of making a game that anyone on the web can play without installing, patching, etc. I really feel like the web presents a whole new area of innovation for games.
I am interested in helping with the study group organization. As I mentioned before, I have participated in P2PU previously in the JS 101 course and saw how useful it was to have faciliators reading and commenting on blog posts (which I did as well).

Standard Set Answer:What made me interested in this topic is that i began to learn html in school but the teacher really didn't go in depth. i wanted to learn code not just draging and placing stuff. By participating in this class i hope to learn what all the other types of codes mean besides just <body> and the basic ones. Since i am very new to html i don't think it would be appropriate for me to to really help organize anything.

Standard Set Answer:I've been doing fulltime actionscript development for over 10 years now, so looking eagerly for some new challenges. Since HTML5 could be the new leading technology in my field of work, I'd love to share thoughts and knowledge with others instead of digging into it all alone. It's always more fun to share while learning new stuff.
I want to become more versatile in creating interactive stuff and I think this group might help me towards that goal.
And yes, I'd love to help to organize some things. Right now I'm also organizing some workshops on location in Amsterdam for interactive developers. I think sharing and networking is key for being inspired to make beautiful things and become a stronger developer.

As a print designer who is moving into web design and development, I've come to realize that being an effective designer no longer entails simply putting together static Photoshop layouts, or confining oneself to visual design. I would like to provide a better foundation for building rich user experiences.

I'm interested in HTML5, in general. I have been impressed by the HTML5 dashboard provided by Mozilla and I want to improve my skill in webcrafting. The goal, in the end, will be to develop and maintain my own homepages written in HTML5, with CSS3, etc...
However, I'm not particularly interested in helping with the study group organization for now, as it is my first day here. I would like to see how a study group is working before being involved in such an organization.

Standard Set Answer:I've been on the internet for 18 years now, loving every minute of it. For years I have felt that it would be nice to know how to program but never taken the time to really learn. Now I want to, because I keep getting ideas for cool web apps that I can't make reality.
I hope to learn to build some web apps. They may not be polished but I would like to at least be able to get down the functionalities that I want. I want to be able to use API:s to pull data from services and do something with it.
