Standard Set Answer:
Learning is a collective process: no one can learn without the inputs of others, be they peers or communities. Passionate about the way people (and especially young fellows) learn, learn how to learn and teach to their peers in return, I am also dedicated to learn about private initiatives dedicated to education purposes.
While nurturing a project that I plan to start up when I go back to my own country, France (I am currently studying in the US for a year), I would like to get as many insights as people can provide, here, in an on-line & innovative setting, or in the field.
As I have been well-involved in social entrepeneurship, mainly through internships, research and course design on current subjects that affect the sector and its actors, I hope to get better practical skills to implement my ideas and help others achieving their own projects, through mentorship programs, for instance.
It would make total sense for me to help with the course organization, so I hope I could give some of my time and skills to P2PU.
Public Set Answer:
Back in the 2000's, the internet was surging and I was 8. I started and learnt how to web-develop on my own, while feeling bored about what surrounded me at school. Feeling challenged by the new languages that were developing as I grew up, HTML and then CSS first appeared to me as good ways to express my ideas in innovative fashions, first with the help of others, then independently.
My first websites were linked to childish topics and then quite egocentric ones (it was the beginning of the "blog era", and I could not help critizing the simultaneous emergence of the "ready-made" blogs). Anyway, it was always a source of fun and learning experiences.
Because I stopped to webdevelop for a long time and recently came back to it, I hope this course will provide me with a better understanding of the changes that affected the on-line area. After spending my summer revisiting HTML & CSS, I got interested in PHP to develop more complex websites.
This course would be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge about this language as I envision to develop a website dedicated to education issues.
