Standard Set Answer:I have used WordPress for several years and want to learn a server side language. I thought that learning PHP would be a good initial language to learn.

I am an architectural designer with a design build company and am also responsible for all IT related tasks such as building and maintaining company web presence and company network. I would like to learn PHP to be able to extend the company website to include a portal to the database of our projects.

Standard Set Answer:I first got a glance of PHP when creating a Wordpress blog for my company. I have since seen other ways that PHP could be usefull for incorporating other elements into a website incuding accessing a database.
I hope to get an in depth knowlege of how to use PHP in website development including security measures and error handling.
I'm not sure I am qualified at all to help with the course, but I will do what I can.
one reason I would like to learn PHP is because I have an idea to expand my company website. I would like to have a secure portal for select users to gain access to project information. I beleive I can do this using PHP, but I don't know PHP well enough to do it yet.
