I have plenty of topics I can choose from and at the moment I'm not sure what to choose. It depends on what other people are teaching and what they are interested in.

I teach science at a Sobriety High School, a small charter school in Minnesota. I'm interested in finding creative ways to use art and visuals in science education. So far these have included a lot of hands on activies with more and more involving the arduino.
Location: Minnesota
Standard Set Answer:
I have taught a few science and technology classes that used a class website (wordpress and buddypress) to facilitate some assignment submission, collaboration, discussions, and research. I teach at a high school serving "at-risk" students with poor attendance. I would like to find out how a mixed online/face to face class would help students stay engaged and on track with their assignments. My plan is for students to use the online classroom at school exclusively. This will allow for asynchronous discussions and a place to record feedback and ideas on assignments.
My goal is to use the online classroom to allow students to stay engaged while working indepently on some projects and assignments. I want to find out what others are doing and get ideas to integrate as I develop a kitchen chemistry course.
This class interests me because I'm not sure how to best create a blended classroom for students with poor attendance and no internet at home. I'm hoping to get ideas from others and find other teachers with similar goals.
Public Set Answer:
-
I taught a moodle based science class for half a year and used a class website for two years in my face to face classes for group work, student sharing of assignments, and discussions.
-
I have already create a kitchen chemistry curriculum that I use in f2f classes. I want to modify the course so that some assignments will be completed online.
-
It would be interesting to have other students to run a webinar walking through their online classroom and how they made their decisions.
-
I have experience developing inquiry based lessons for at risk teens. I also have experience developing a class website and decent html/javascript skills.
