This course will include an overview of techniques and strategies that research has shown to improve learning outcomes using multimedia and graphics for learning. The role of graphics will be explored to move from the use of graphics from decoration to those that truly foster deeper learning. We will also discuss classroom delivery of multimedia. Participants will apply these concepts to improve and design instructional multimedia.
This course is not on how to create multimedia. Participants should use multimedia they already know how to use.
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Look at the course syllabus and reflect upon your current use of multimedia, needs, interests, and goals. Think about your areas of strength and weakness in using multimedia. Consider what you plan to create in the project part of this course (this may change over time). Post a comment. Your individual objectives might be shared with others and become the basis for collaboration with other participants. Feel free to respond to each others' posts.
I am hoping to learn a bit more about how digital images and other forms of media can be used to help students understand course materials.
I'm repeating this course from last year. My objective is to deepen my understanding of the concepts presented here and to continue to refine the multimedia and graphics I prepare to take advantage of the research presented here.
