Wk 2 - Summary of discussion

Facillitators Note:  I will try to conclude our work during week 2 with some concept maps (I already know the discussion won't fit in one map). Key concepts and relations are ony my interpretation and are open for discussion.  I have used  https://bubbl.us/ beccause it is quick to use (took 5sec to figure out, but not very collaborative since you have to add users),but the free version is very limited.

Yes, Im a fan of this mindmap too! Thanks to Jonas. If, I was adept at Prezi, I'd do a presentation as I find this a useful tool for understanding such complexity.

Discussion of the question: Is there, in addition to habits of mind, some structure that is needed for self-directed learning to blossom? Could we create a template/table of contents of sorts, to help ourselves plan, carry out, and reflect on our own learning?

I'm a fan of your mind map. I also think Cambourne's Conditions for Learning might deserve some annotations that reflect how learners can use networks to meet the conditions, or how networks impact the conditions.

Interesting, Joe.  Cambourne's conditions do allow for the synchronicity and serendipity we were discussing earlier.  The immersion piece allows for the spontaneous while the demonstration piece is structured and defined.  I like it --thank you for bringing it to my attention.  I know Cambourne participated on a listserv I was on a while back and I always meant to read more on his Conditions.  Thank you.
