Anyone can follow a conversation group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  What made you interested in this topic?

  I am a seeker at heart, always desiring to learn professionally and personally. Plus, the people involved is an impressive cast of characters.

  What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  I just hope to be part fo the conversation, offering what I can and learning from the other participants. This being one of the looser P2PU efforts in which I will have participated or followed, I am kind of curious just because it is so different.

  I've just moved outside the institution to look at some new directions in life. Being an early adopter Ive been at the edge for a while now so time to step outside... and see what comes...

  I believe all teachers are learners.  Our students may learn from us, but we also learn from them.  I am interested in this topic because I want to find ways to help my studentsto become life long learners, too.   I work with English as a Second Language Learners who are motivated to learn English, but many feel that they must have a teacher teaching them the topic.  They believe teachers must tell them what they are doing wrong and how to do things right.  I want to find ways to model this behavior for them so that they can begin to take charge of their own learning.  I am interested in learning how to help students become more self-directed learners.

  Title: Innovative Teacher & Education Coach

  My professional career started with my qualifications in environmental chemistry and marine biology, followed by working as a teacher with specialization in didactics and ‘Information and Communication Technology’ (ICT). I’m now focusing on my thesis for my Master of Arts and Social Science in ‘Adult Learning and Global Change’ (ALGC), with the working title Navigating Distributed Knowledge with the use of Web Tools.

    In 2012 I've started eduToolkit a ‘Grassroots Organization’ promoting ‘Teachers Open Online Learning’ (TOOL) for Professional Development. Our aim is to provide a free teacher training, where the desire to learn is fully met by the opportunity to do so. We investigate the concept of ‘The Networked Teacher’ and find out more about ‘Networked Literacy & Fluency’ in education.

  Our first online course "eduToolkit - Promoting Teachers Open Online Learning" [TOOL] (16/1-24/3, 2012) investigated what new skills and capacities teachers need to develop in 'Networked Literacy & Fluency'.  We then shared some thoughts on some criteria for badges/certification as a ‘Networked Teacher’.  This was a peer to peer course at P2PU and resulted in our community badges as well as our mission statement.

  In the second online course "eduToolkit - The Use of Web Tools in Networked Learning" [#CNT12]  (16/4 – 4/5, 2012) we used examples from WikiEducator using the eLearning XHTML editor (eXe).  We also created the challenge “Certified Networked Teacher” and developed a skill badge that can be use within the Mozilla Open Badges Project.

  I then participated as one of the co-facilitators in "Empower Your Personal Learning (for teachers)" and "ePortfolios for Teachers"

  The upcoming module is called “eduToolkit - Syndicated Education in Distributed Learning Environments” [#ANT] and the next module will be about expert skills as a networked teacher  with “eduToolkit - Central Node in Learning Networks" [#ENT12]

  I teach a tech integration course in the summer, and a feel this is a piece that is missing. I hope that I will learn new strategies to pass on to my students and to pick up some information for myself as well.
