Standard Set Answer:
I have been interesting in using storytelling for learning applications for the 20+ years in my career. I started out producing interactive laser-disk videos and then, due to technology issues, had to cull back the storytelling for what is now the standard eLearning practice of less is more.
Ever since reading sci-fi stories by James P. Hogan, I have seen the potential for augmenting the "real word" around us with computer generated elements thus freeing up the rendering cycles for unique learning components and not taxing the systme creating things we already have. I hope sharing the experiences of this group will provide insight for how best to proceed with developing practical solutions.
Yes, I am interested in helping with the ARG organization. Please let me know how.
FYI, I was on the the team of the 3D company that developed Shockwave 3D with Intel and Macromedia in the late 90's and headed up the content team for X3D Technologies developing autostereoscopic displays and interactive multimedia.
Public Set Answer:
I have never actually participated in an ARG.
Yes, I have written interactive fiction (with minimal branching scenarios).
Yes, I have done collaborative storytelling (though primarily through dramatic improv for theater)

I'm starting a project soon to develop curriculum for business and economics classes using WoW, and I'm a total n00b for MMORPG (really, anything beyond solitaire or chess, where I suck). I hope to come up to speed on both the game itself (by starting to play it) and on the use of games and gamification (by lurking here). If I can help with anything, I'll be as delighted as I am surprised.

Standard Set Answer:
I'm interested in this topic because it's the intersection between two things I love...education and technology. Oooh shiny! :D
I hope to network, find new shiny things, and enjoy learning more about technology and education from my peers.
I can't organize myself, I really don't see how I can help with organization here, lol!
Public Set Answer:
I've played an ARG a few times. I'm really interested in figuring out how they tick. What makes them truly interesting to someone, as opposed to just something they have to do for class? Which technology makes for a more seamless experience? How seamless should the experience be? Why am I answering questions with more questions?
I've written interactive fiction, yes, in the form of HTML. Most of what I've done was done in college, though, so I'm interested to continue expanding that.
And no, not really. I tend to be pretty focused on the nuts-and-bolts practicalities, rather than storytelling.

I became interested in using ARGs in the classroom after reading Gee and McGonigal. I'm planing on running an ARG in my fall semester courses and I hope this course will help me with the planning and facilitating of the game. I may be interested in helping with the organization once I learn more about it.
Public Set Answer:
I have never played an ARG though I wish I had. I haven't written interactive fiction. I have only done collaborative storytelling while building this ARG with a colleague though I guess that story hasn't actually been told yet so my only experience with collaborative fiction was in fiction writing workshops.

I am not really able to help with organisation because of other commitments and time zone issues. Indeed, I may generally be lurking more than contributing.
Public Set Answer:
I have never played an ARG
I have never written interactive fiction although I am exploring the use of Twine, a very simple editor, as a component of the toolset for the ARG I am envisioning.

Greetings fellow lifelong learners.
At the University of Central Florida I serve as the Director of Course Development in the Center for Distributed Learning. I helped found Online@UCF and have seen the institution more than double in the 15 years I've been in my role.
I am also a doctoral student researching simulation games, virtual worlds, game-based and informal learning, and complex systems. My program is mostly online offered through Colorado Technical University in Computer Science, Emerging Media. My participation in virtual worlds originated with the New Media Consortium in 2006. In 2011, I was a participant in Gardner Campbell's New Media Faculty Development Seminar via Virginia Tech.
I also participate as I can in the US Army's Military Open Simulation Enterprise Strategy (MOSES) located in UCF's Research Park. UCF is very active in EDUCAUSE and the Sloan Consortium in the United States. UCF's Institute for Simulation and Training is often involved in research for advanced learning technologies.

Public Set Answer:
I have not played before alternate reality games, however I have been involved in the generation of several games, one developed at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in the faculty of literature. The game was called "Project 25" and was developed within the framework of the "Narratopedía" can be viewed at:http://youtu.be/sI0P1DcYE60, I have also participated in the writing of an alternate universe for an RPG simulation of conflicts within a research project of the faculty of psychology at the University of Santo Tomas in Bogota
