I'm a Preschool Ed. Teacher but involved in Teacher Training since 2004. Currently I'm México Country Coordinador of the Non Profit Teachers Without Borders. I'm in permanent search for P.D. opportunities for myself and the colleagues I work with.
Location: Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico
Standard Set Answer:Almost every time I have the opportunity to work with teachers I finish my participation with mixed feelings... Some teachers get over excited about the contents, while others just sit in the back and watch, they decide not to engage in conversations or activities and I really get worried if it's me, it's the content, it's their personality, their learning style, maybe... I want to be able to deal with those participants or at least with my frustration. Of course I always wonder what do they do in their own classrooms when they face the same situation... Maybe through this course I will get to know the reason for the lack of motivation and ways to change that. I expect to engage in meaningful conversations about the topic and if we don't end up with the right answers and become super engaging teachers, at least we would have shared our experiences and come back to the classroom with new strategies to motivate our students. If at this point there is still a way to collaborate with the course organization, I would love to do it, time is limited, but the interest in t.p.d. and my respect for this project is big!
