As someone who gathers and distributes lots of information--for my own use and for others to use--I'm interested in ways to curate that information that will make sure I continue to have access to a wide variety of perspectives and still manage it. I hope to gain some new tools and practices by learning from my colleagues with similar interests in managing information. I won't have time to help with organization this time around, I'll be lucky to keep up with participation!

Bio:
I am a former high school English teacher now working primarily as a freelance writer and educational consultant. I review apps for a Bay Area start-up called YogiPlay as well as for Common Sense Media. I also assist in managing and curating content for the National Writing Project's Digital Is website.
Location: Oakland, CA
Standard Set Answer:
I am interested in learning about the ways others save, curate, and share content. I feel like my digital life is scattered across so many platforms, pieces are often lost and easily forgotten. I have lately been interested in curating content related to my work as an app reviewer--distributing some kind of regular collection for friends and family each month. I hope to realize that goal with the help of this group.
Yes, I am happy to help with organizing the study group if you still need people.

Location: Leeds, Massachusetts
Standard Set Answer:
I think the idea of curating how we represent outselves online and in digital form is intriguing, and is a central part of the shift around writing and publishing. I am hoping to spark some good discussions, share some ideas and steal a lot of other ideas from others. (Theft of good ideas is apparently part of my digital identity!). I would be up for helping with the group.

I'm am instructional coach in Aurora, Colorado, and a participant in Cohort 2 of the NWP Literacy in the Common Core project.
Location: Denver, CO
Standard Set Answer:
I'm interested in the way texts are evolving in digital environments. As people increasingly live their lives in public, virtual spaces, I'm interested in the learning that happens in those spaces. Also, open courses interest me, so part of my motivation for joining any open, online course is to experience a learning environment a little removed from traditional models.
I hope to gain some insight into the concept of curation and how it applies to digital environments and to my life.
I would be happy to help organize. Please let me know how I can help.

Standard Set Answer:
I'm constantly thinking about how to organize and make sense of what I produce to create a coherent narrative for others. As a teacher I love to help people use new tools and techniques to express themselves and connect with others.
I hope to get some ideas on how to curate the material that I create and to bring some of that back to the learners that I deal with.
I would love to help in any way that I can.
