posted message: Well, "if" everybody survives Week 2 :-) we would appear to have around 35 people including myself and Parag (One latecomer hasn't signed in here yet).
That's respectable, should be able to have some reasonable discussions with that number of people.
If there are people following along rather than participating who would like to have a look at the Week 1 materials, let me know.

posted message: Hi Andy, Welcome...
Still quite a few people who haven't made a post yet in Zoho, be grateful if all the players would do that, you can copy your intro from the old Forum if you want.

posted message: A lot of it is in the "gory detail" link I posted as a reply in Zoho to brotherhutch ie
http://jibbering.com/faq/notes/closures/#clIntro
I got some parts from other places, I will dig them out and post them later in the same thread as an edit, OK? (I think some of it was links/explanations posted by participants in the forums from your course).

posted message: Selfstudier... great explanation for lexical scoping
"closures in Javascript are simply a result of lexical scoping (meaning that functions run in the scope in which they are defined, not the scope from which they are executed.)"

posted message: Well, it's a bit better than I thought, we appear to have around 30 plus participating.
I am going to move the schedule back by 2 days (ie to Wednesdays) to give people a chance to catch up with their assignments, see the new Forums (Zoho and this one) meanwhile I try and pin down the exact number of participants.
Thanks to everyone for the fast responses.
