Working through the Tasks

Tasks for this group are ordered to provide general information about the study group and are then organised in a recommended order. You can work through the tasks in which ever order you feel comfortable with.

All participants can modify tasks. You can add a relevant comment or correct an error etc.  You can even add a new Task!

As P2PU's platform evolves we'll provide more structure to the tasks organisation.

To share your response to a task with the group please "Reply" to a task.

    Q. What is the difference between a participant and a follower? Are they the same thing?

    A. Participants have more privileges on the study group, and are the ones that will be actively involved in it. They can post messages to the wall, post comments on the study group tasks, create new tasks, and help improve existing ones. Followers can only see the study group activity stream in their dashboard and in the future will also receive optional notifications by email. As the number of participants in a study group grows the number of comments, wall posts ... that participants and followers have to read grows and can become overwhelming. The follower role is designed for study groups that can not handle big groups of participants and need to restrict how many people is actively involved.

There seems to be some confusion about how to participate in this group. In the left Sidebar are Tasks and Links intended to represent work you need to do to study Javascript. Where you start depends on what you know already (What is Javascript Task should be a good place for most people along with Intro for Followers). You may progress at the speed which suits you. When you have questions about Tasks, post it on the relevant page, anyone may answer you.
