Anyone can follow a course on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  Bio:

  I'm working my tail off trying to start a couple of small businesses and be self employed. I've had it with working for other people and I think it's time to be my own boss.

  I became interested in this topic after starting an online newspaper for my very small town in Shickshinny, PA. (shickshinnynews.com) I quickly learned that I had very little to no idea what in the world I was doing!

  I hope to become, through this course, a better writer. In particuler I'd like to become better at writing news articles and reporting. 

  I would be interested in helping with the course organization in the future, yes. At the moment, though, I am trying to figure out the basics!

  I have been a freelance writier for several years, with over 1,500 articles published in the areas of business management, personal finance and Bible studies. I wish to refine my skills in the specific area of news writing to broaden my repertoire of styles.

  By participating, I hope to gain exposure to the basics of news writing. 

  As a beginner to news writing and P2PU, I do not think I would be a good candidate to help with the course organization.

  I browse through 5 newspapers a day, and at least another 2 through the internet. I find that many of the journalists, either deliberately, or lack of imagination, miss the real story in the subject they write about.

  I hope to develope my writing skills so that I can contribute information on the subjects covered in an intelligent, articulate, effective, way.
