Anyone can follow a study group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  My name is Merle, and I am interested in learning about trends and practices in blogging! I have never blogged before. I work for a start-up software company where we make educational software for children with autism and other learning disabilities. I want to be able to blog about health and education surrounding community practices. I am very passionate about healthcare! As far as blogs go, I am still a young grasshopper :)

  I have science and education related degrees and have had wonderful opportunities to work with scientists, doctors, educators and peers. These dynamic experiences have created a personal interest in communication between all those involved in healthcare education and the role that technology plays. For 3 years, I have been a freelance web designer and project manager for startups where I have experienced all aspects of putting small businesses online. I feel these same approaches may be utilized in the areas of healthcare and education.

  My professional motivation? I want to spend every day working very hard to help facilitate and create simple and economic ways for communities to access healthcare and educational resources using the internet through learning management systems. I want to help discover and promote access to simple information and access to increasingly limited resources for children and people living below the poverty line. 

  I am not only interested in blogging and the areas of healthcare and education, I am interested in the P2PU community and how online learning is organized, for free. I want to learn how to be a great online communicator and resource guide.

  I am a currently unemployed marketer in the not-for-profit sector - the last company folded after 30 years of providing services to schools across the midwest and east coast.

  I either  in various capacities for many community building organizations.

  I understand that writing for the web is different, but I don't understand how it's different; thinking about and exploring the platform will help me hone that portion of my skill.

  Recently, we had a local debate about our city government spending TIF dollars on a redevelopment project for an abandoned building. If you don't understand how that applies or what that means, that's okay. It's kind of my point.

  So, before the public meeting, our local paper printed a front page article titled 'Tax payers will be strapped with 3.9 million dollar bill for Hawks building.' The subsequent meeting had numerous residents standing up and decrying that expenditure. It's a local election year, so much of it was politically motivated, but they still made headlines.

  That struck me as an odd expenditure for my city in the middle of a recession and with an unemployment rate of 12+%, so I looked into it. After about 8 hours of research, I learned that the number was way off and how it would be paid for was completely misrepresented.

  I summarized my research, sent it to our local officials, members of both parties running for office, and the local paper. The local paper issued a retraction (page 3) and the merits of the project were debated; subsequent coverage changed dramatically.

  I realized that our papers are so cash strapped that they can't pay to do the real reporting that needs done for my community to have intelligent conversations about our resources. I know that people deeply care about city issues, but are uninformed about how this stuff works.

  I want to help change that and blogging or writing online will by my best venue for that.

  No, there's nothing corny coming, just me make my presence known. Know that I have your attention...HEY HEY HEY!(yes, I'm fresh off an episode of Fat Albert, one of my personal favs.)

  Anyway back to the topic-blogging! I'm Deuce. I love to read and write and am making myself do more of both. I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog but then I think, who the hell would want to read my ramblings about everything/nothing. My content would be around current events, music, sneakers, food and maybe even some interesting historicalness(yeah, I make up words a lot) here and there. Hey, I told you the content would be random.

  Then there's the whole thing about selecting a place for my blog. I just graduated from ad school and most of my time is spent looking for work, so looking for a place to house my blog has been completely but on the back burner.  :0/

  I love the idea of a group of like minded people to do this with though, really. I'm always hungry for new ideas, trends, art, or whatever and after reading the group's posts, it sounds like you guys(and girls) are too. If you have suggestions about what sites are good places to blog, that would be a great start along with any tips you could give.

  Also James &, are you still looking for people to post on your blog? If so, I'd love to get involved.

  Well the ease of learning via Web by login from anyplace,anytime made me interested in joining P2PU.org and Since blogging is the area where all the cool things are happening on various subject, So I am signing up to participate where i can collobarate with my peers on the subject and enhance my knowledge on the subject.

  Hello, my name is Austin and im 21 years old. I have a huge passion for web design (all facets of design really).

  Through working a full-time job and trying to juggle life I feel my design skills are slowly dwindling away. I want to learn all I can about web design and blogging so that I can one day start a business of my own.

  I have a couple websites that need to get more attention from me to really set them up right. Hoping to learn the art of blogging, which being a wannabe web designer really should be second nature. I have WordPress installed but no real content as yet.
