Anyone can follow a study group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  • What made you interested in this topic?
    • I have been working with Javascript and various libraries for the past 5 years or so.  So definiitely, I am keen to learn more about this, specifically oop, design , testing and framework development.

  Javascript is seen in so much of the web, but it seems to be a fairly interesting programming language in its own right.

  • What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  I'd like to end up with some proficiency in javascript and a better understanding of what a prototyping langue is.

  I've always had an interest in jQuery, with all its fancy effects. I figured I should start with javascript as a foundation (since, you know, it's based on it).

  I am a graduating, non-traditonal college student. My first bachelor's is in History and Spanish. I will pursue a second bachelor's in computer science, carrying a very heavy load it should take 1.5 years. 

  Besides overstudying I like the outdoors, fiction of all genres and qualities, martial arts, coffeeshops, conversation, excersise, if I can time to relax. Good Luck in your study.

  Note: I taught myself C to about an intermediate level, but system programming seemed difficult...probably for good reason. It has other uses but OO languages do it better.

  Tools for presenting information in creative ways have been proleferating, and I want to make full use of them. To make truly unique content, however, it's important to go under the hood and harness the API.
