One of the many things my experience in our MOOC has inspired me to do is to further explore & study the growth of OpenSim grids and hypergridding <http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Hypergrid>.
The OpenSimulator.org web site seems like it will be a useful resource for this. It appears to have a great deal of useful information on the topic and I think this grid list <http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Grid_List> will be particularly useful to study, both to identify the active open grids out there as well as their relative sizes and level of participant activity.

Week 1--Prepared Group Tours
Let's go exploring!
Monday
4pm slt-- Performance Arts locations in Second Life
We'll be visiting the epic Rose Theatre as well as Ballet Pixelle and Caledon's own Gaiety Theatre.
Never seen the Rose? Check out the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcxElmtNjV4
We'll leave from Jaguarland's Bay Boat Welcome Center deck @ 4pm slt
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Jaguarland%20USA%20Education/63/20/26?title=Jaguarland
(I know this is short notice today--the original plan fell through--so for those who can't join in, I'll leave a notecard giver on the deck of the Bay Boat for those who want to come by, pick it up, and explore on their own!)
Tuesday
Gulliver's Travels at Inworldz!
We'll meet at the Welcome area at 6pm slt and head out from there. (No landmark needed--if you haven't reset your home, you'll rez at the Welcome area anyway.)
Never been in Inworldz? Check out the "in the door" orientation file-- http://vwmooc.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/inworldz-orientation-for-vwbpe.pdf
