Anyone can follow a study group on P2PU. Participating is the next level of engagement. The sign-up is a space where interested individuals can express their interest and background in the topic and commit to working with the rest of the participants. Please answer the following set(s) of questions if you want to become a participant or organizer.

  I am interested on javascript because I think a good website needs good interaction with the user and javascript is a good tool to achieve that.

  As a former programmer in the 70s and 80s, I still have the desire to code. With the need to earn, care for family, business etc., I've put off learning the code of the 21st century.   Wanting to learn to code, develop Javascript/Ruby on Rails skills, ultimately to be a web developer.

  Since this would be my first P2PU course, I'd rather focus on just the course itself, but if I can help minimally, I will be glad to do so.

  My studies and strong interest in information and communications technology, computer science,social networking and the web have become my career. I work well on a team (I have a predisposition for it), or as a freelancer (inventing and implementing) to create websites, web services, web or mobile applications using the tools available with html 4-5, css 2-3, javascript (also jquery + other libs), xml, json, php, ruby (on Rails), jsp, asp, mysql, slqlite, git, svn, windows, mac, linux. I have dealt with all phases of an online product as uxd, ai and project manager too. I'm always studying, learning and looking for new technologies, new ideas and possibilities.

  Now I'm looking also for collaborations/partners for several startups & work abroad.

  What made you interested in this topic?

  What has made me interested in Javascript, is its ability to turn a static web site in to a more dynamic and interactive site, allowing users to truely interact with a website. However im aware that jquery, mootools etc, help do these things, nethertheless I feel a strong knowledge of javascript is fundamental before learning about javascript libraries.

  What do you hope to achieve by participating?

  I hope to better my knowledge in javascript, and be able to use that knowledge to help others
