I've always been interested in JavaScript; my recent intrigue is because I'd like to utilize JS to build rich UIs and also node.js' explosion has left me mesmerized and drooling.
I'd like to be able to use JS to DOMinate the User Experience; increase usability, ui, ux, etc. I'd like to learn my way around node.js (or server-side JS in general), not only to see what's up...but I think it'd be really swell to be able to write code in one language for both sides so you only have to write your code once!
I am interested in helping, but not sure how I can.

I'm currently working in the comic book industry, though I'm looking to up my web development game as well.
Location: Ohio
Standard Set Answer:
I have been able to design, chop up, and code websites with HTML and CSS for a few years now, though I have always avoided Javascript like the plauge, using other peoples code and hacking together badly working fuctionality.
I would like to take my web game up a step and take the time to learn Javascirpt the right way. I have attempted to teach myself and learn from videos online, that has been semi successful but I do tend to not get very far into it before I'm off learning something I understand better.
I'm currently working in the comic book industry, moon lighting in the design business and also doing small work in the music industry right now, so I'm not sure I can put a ton of time in helping with the organization of things, though I'm not against the idea when I am available to lend a hand.

I've recently started using javascript after only programming in Java and Python and I am astounded at the simple, but powerful code that can be produced if one understands the good and bad parts of the language.
